From November 19 to 21, the Chinese delegation led by Ms. Lin Yi, Vice Minister and Deputy Head of National Working Committee on Children and Women of the State Council, attended the Asia-Pacific Ministerial Conference on the Beijing+30 Review. Mr. Ye Xuenong, Permanent Representative of China to ESCAP attended the conference as a member of the delegation.
In the national statement, Ms. Lin pointed out that Chinese President Xi Jinping has personally drawn the blueprint for the development of Chinese women's undertakings. China has been actively implementing the Beijing Declaration and the Platform for Action as well as the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. It has continuously improved the legal system for safeguarding women's rights and interests, constantly raised the health and education levels of women, promoted women's in-depth participation in technological innovation, adopted a "zero-tolerance" attitude towards crimes that violate the rights of women and children, successively formulated and implemented action plans against human trafficking, and continuously enhanced women's sense of fulfillment, happiness and security. The Chinese side looks forward to working with other countries to contribute more to the early realization of global gender equality and the promotion of building a community with a shared future for mankind.
During the conference, Ms. Lin Yi held bilateral meetings with Ms. Armida Salsiah Alisjahbana, UN Under - Secretary - General, Executive Secretary of ESCAP.
