The 5th Session of the Committee on Macroeconomic Policy, Poverty Reduction and Financing for Development of ESCAP was held on 19-21 November 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand. Mr. Ye Xuenong, Permanent Representatives of China to ESCAP led a delegation to attend the meeting.
The Chinese delegation supported regional follow-up of the Sevilla Commitment by ESCAP in line with the outcomes of the Fourth International Conference on Financing for Development, and called for expanding coordinated and orderly development financing channels, enhancing the voice and representation of developing countries in the international financial architecture, and further promoting trade and investment liberalization and facilitation, so as to provide new drives to the implementation of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The Chinese Delegation also shared China’s achievements in promoting comprehensive transformation towards green economic and social development during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, as well as the top-level design for the country’s economic and social development in the next five years outlined in the Recommendations for Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan. The delegation reaffirmed that China remains committed to creating opportunities for all through its own development, thereby providing greater stability and certainty for the Asia-Pacific and the global economy.
